1st half

We kicked the game of and started well, Chopper and Demon were running well from defence with the ball and playing their team mates in with some good passes which resulted in Dan Bowden having a snap shot which just goes wide of the upright. We are in full stride now and playing some nice football. Matthew finds Dan with a slide rule pass but a good saving tackle by a Brislington defender stops him getting in on goal. The pitch is very heavy but the same for both sides. Some great work in midfield by Matthew and Owen results in Matthew having a fizzing drive well saved by the Brislington Keeper. In a rare Brislington attack a looping cross is well dealt with by Brandon who releases well and sets us off on another attack which resulted in Dan flashing his shot just wide of the post. After three of Owen corners in a row there is a goal mouth scramble in which we just can’t find that killer touch to put us 1-0 up. So the half ends 0-0 but it was a very good half performance wise for us.

2nd half

We started the second half as we finished first with pressure on the Brislington goal but we couldn’t force a goal. We then managed to force a string of about four corners together which Brislington defended well and for all our pressure we were just missing the telling touch in front of goal. With Jacob and Lewis defending well when Brislington broke on us, and Brandon rarely being troubled, in midfield Eli was busy making good runs off of Owen’s nice little passes in behind their defence but once again we failed to score. On twelve minutes Brislington force a corner which Brandon deals with and release Tyler who sets off on a run but the Brislington keeper isn’t troubled by his shot on goal. In the last seconds of the game Lewis picks the ball up in defence and just starts running at their goal and manages to beat the defender and get a shot away. As it beats the keeper and is just about to be his first goal of the season the referee blows his whistle just as it hits the net. The game finished 0-0 well played boys.

M.O.M ; LEWIS HOLT He was solid at the back and looked assured when he stepped forward with the ball. A great all-round display.

1ST half

We kicked off and straight from the start Kaka signalled his drive and will to win. He ran through the middle of the pitch in the early seconds of the game and forced a good shot away that went through the keeper’s legs. But he managed to recover and save it well. We were now in control of the midfield battle with Kaka and Oliver battling well to keep us in control of the ball. We keep the pressure on but as in the first game we couldn’t find the net. Brislington then forced a corner but Ellis managed to come off his line and claim it comfortably. We picked the ball up in the midfield and worked the ball to Callum who found the back of the net to make it 1-0 to us. Brislington then came on the attack and forced Ellis to make a fine save to keep the score at 1-0. The game then started to move at a quick pace with end to end attacking, both sides having chances and the keepers doing well. We then concede a soft goal from a corner on the stroke of half-time 1-1.

2nd half

The second half started with both sides working hard, Ellis was called into action and again saved well. Kaka then carried the ball from the middle of the park to set Josh up for a shot which he put just wide. Dan and Rhys kept the Brislington attackers at bay during a spell of pressure. We then forced a corner but Brislington managed to clear it just as Oliver was about to strike it. The game then became a midfield battle with both teams unable to break each other down. The game finished honours even 1-1.

M.O.M ; ELLIS JONES He was assured in goal with good handling skills and some smart saves which will boost his game. He also showed a good level of control in the team when pressure was on.
